Black Bean Chipotle Dip


16 ounces black beans canned or cooked

1tsp adobo chipotle sauce and 1 chipotle pepper (can use jalapenos or other peppers instead)

1 tsp minced garlic (1-2 cloves)

juice from 1 lime

¼ to ½ bunch of cilantro, chopped

1 small red onion, diced

¼ cup tahini or ½ cup yogurt

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp ground cumin

salt to taste

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp smoked paprika


  1. Sautee the onions (and jalapenos if using those) in 1 tsp oil on medium high heat until lightly caramelized 5-10 minutes, add garlic and cook 1-2 min
  2. Mix all ingredients in food processor or blender. Serve with chips or bread.
